- Nigrán (Pontevedra), 30 December 2025
- The President of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, today praised the role of companies such as Delta Vigo in promoting innovation and consolidating I+G+i, research and development made in Galicia. “Everything that universities, centres of excellence and leading companies such as Delta are doing by investing in innovation and research is the future,” he stated, adding that “Galicia is undertaking more I+G+i than ever, of which we wish to be proud and which we also seek to further encourage.”
- He made these remarks this morning after a meeting with the company’s management team, during which they presented their future projects, and following a visit to the construction works of the new plant being built in Nigrán. There, accompanied by the Regional Minister for Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana, he praised the trajectory of this family-run business with 100% Spanish capital. “It is admirable,” he noted, “that a company exporting 90% of its highly complex and high-quality products worldwide should maintain its Galician roots” and continue to grow from Galicia.
- Rueda placed special emphasis on Delta Vigo’s commitment to I+G+i, Galician innovation, and described the group as a representative of the Galicia Calidade brand for its economic and productive significance as well as its international presence. “Thank you for being part of the business vanguard that innovates to make Galicia Calidade,” he said.
- The President affirmed that companies such as this one help position Galicia as a benchmark in the aerospace and defence sectors. Rueda underlined the importance of being prepared “in such cutting-edge fields as air navigation technology, the railway of the future or defence,” which provide “a huge advantage” for regions in the current global context.
- During his speech, he reaffirmed the Xunta’s commitment to all companies that generate wealth and employment in Galicia, which the regional government supports through various resources and funding schemes.
- Within this framework of collaboration, he highlighted, among other measures, Galicia’s first Strategic Initiative for Security, Defence and Aerospace, approved last summer. It will involve a public investment of €183 million up to 2030, which will in turn mobilise €900 million.
