- Santiago de Compostela, 6 March 2025
- The Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) has published today a new line of aid aimed at supporting self-employed individuals and Galician companies by subsidising the interest on their loans. With a budget of €5 million, this programme seeks to ease the financial burden on businesses and promote the growth and consolidation of Galicia’s productive fabric.
- The initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Economy and Industry through Igape, is directed at companies of all sizes—both individuals and legal entities—that have received loans granted with public funds since 2020 to develop business projects in Galicia and that carry out economic activities within the region.
- This aid will cover interest generated between 1 January 2025 and 31 October 2026 for loans formalised with various entities, including Xesgalicia, the Official Credit Institute (ICO), and the European Investment Bank (EIB). The goal is to make long-term financing more accessible, ensuring that companies can undertake their investments and growth plans under more favourable conditions.
- The subsidy will be granted on a non-competitive basis, meaning that all applications meeting the requirements will be processed until the available budget is exhausted. The maximum amount received will depend on the volume of interest generated and the limitations established by European regulations.
- Application Deadlines
- The application period will open on 14 March at 9:00 a.m. and close on 1 December 2025 at 2:00 p.m. Once approved, beneficiaries may request payment in two phases:
- The first phase runs from 1 to 15 November 2025 for interest generated between January and October 2025. The second phase runs from 1 to 15 November 2026 for interest generated between November 2025 and October 2026.
- With this measure, the Xunta reinforces its commitment to business growth and economic dynamisation in Galicia, promoting financial tools that facilitate access to credit and drive projects with a positive impact on the region.
