- The Business Factory Energy seeks to accelerate startups and innovative projects, facilitating their connection with the market and with the real needs of the energy sector
- Within the framework of a working meeting with the lead companies, progress was made on validating the first challenges of the BF Energy and on strengthening collaboration between the Administration, companies and sectoral entities
- The new accelerator expands the Xunta’s Business Factory Network, which has already supported more than 375 projects, with a 95% survival rate and more than 1,400 qualified jobs created

- The Director of the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion (Igape), Covadonga Toca, and the Director of the Galician Energy Institute (Inega), Pablo Fernández Vila, held a working meeting with lead companies in the energy sector within the framework of the launch of the Business Factory Energy (BF Energy), the new specialised accelerator promoted by the Xunta de Galicia in collaboration with ASIME and Cluergal.
- In her address, Covadonga Toca highlighted the excellent moment being experienced by the Galician innovation ecosystem and stressed the Xunta’s commitment to strengthening the connection between knowledge, business and industry. In this regard, she recalled that Galicia is finalising its new Business Innovation Strategy 2026–2028 and underlined that the Business Factory Network constitutes one of the best examples of a specialised acceleration model that, over the last decade, has enabled the promotion of hundreds of startups and innovative projects and the consolidation of an increasingly competitive business ecosystem.
- On his part, Pablo Fernández Vila highlighted the strategic role of the energy transition as one of the major opportunities for industrial development for Galicia. Thus, he pointed out that the Business Factory Energy is born with the aim of identifying and accelerating innovative projects capable of responding to the sector’s challenges, fostering collaboration between startups, lead companies, technology centres and the energy value chain as a whole.
- Within the framework of the meeting, Enrique Mallón, Secretary-General of ASIME, and Oriol Sarmiento, Manager of Cluergal, presented the strategic lines of the Business Factory Energy, the main challenges identified for its first call and the collaboration model with the lead companies. These will play a key role in identifying the sector’s needs, guiding projects and validating the solutions developed by the future participating startups.
- The session was completed with a working discussion in which representatives of the lead companies put forward proposals and reflections to contribute to the definition of the technological and business challenges that will guide the first edition of BF Energy.
- The Business Factory Energy forms part of the new generation of specialised accelerators promoted by the Xunta de Galicia to support the development of innovative projects in strategic sectors, favour the creation of new technology-based companies and strengthen the competitiveness of the Galician industrial base.
