- The Galicia Calidade brand will travel to space aboard the first orbital transfer vehicle designed in Spain by the Galician company UARX Space, which will be launched in the coming months from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
- The Minister of Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana, visited the company’s facilities today at Porto do Molle, in Nigrán (Pontevedra), which is unique in Spain and among the five in the world manufacturing this type of in-house systems capable of manoeuvring in space.
- OSSIE, which stands for Orbit Solutions to Simplify Injection and Exploration, is an orbital transfer vehicle designed to transport small and medium-sized satellites to different orbits and thereby help them reach their final destination. It will make it possible to inject satellites into non-traditional Earth orbits, around the Moon and on deep-space trajectories.
- Lorenzana wanted to express the “immense pride” of all Galicia in this achievement that UARX Space will attain, a company “with very significant growth potential within the current economic and industrial context”, she said. “We will continue to support it,” she added, “because, within the Security, Defence and Aerospace Strategy, it is one of the companies with the greatest potential in the autonomous community,” she concluded.
