- The Councillor for Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana, stated today that when science, business and investment go hand in hand, the return is clear: greater competitiveness, more skilled employment and more future for Galicia.
- “That connection is essential to reduce distances, build trust and speed up the transfer of knowledge to the market. Without that dialogue, innovation does not happen; with it, it turns into results,” she affirmed during her speech at the III Investir en ciencia si é rendible Meeting, held at the CiTIUS, which served as an example of the potential of applied research when it is oriented towards solving real challenges.
- In this context, Lorenzana highlighted that the Xunta is working to create a favourable environment for investment in innovation, supporting the creation and growth of technology-based companies, promoting public-private collaboration and facilitating the transfer of knowledge generated in research centres to industry and the market.
- “Science and technology are today a determining factor for companies to differentiate themselves, internationalise and grow sustainably,” she said, stressing that the aim of the Xunta is “for more scientific projects to become companies; for more companies to incorporate advanced technology; and for Galicia to continue advancing towards a more innovative, more productive and more resilient economy.”
